It was the Soviet assembler Dziga Vertov who, in his fierce documentary attempt to capture the lived reality in its authentic purity, set out an imperative - "to catch life in action". It is precisely that indefinable act of being caught that is not of a solid and clear nature and whose ambiguity in the history of the audiovisual media has led to various forms and procedures of representation of reality.
